Book Direct

Named rooms in the US and Canada. Not a UK copy, not a mystery hotel.

How we pick

How we pick

Book Direct exists because a North American hotel search is a named-building problem before it is a points problem. Park Week writes park weeks. Park Stay writes Hotels.com. Book the Stay writes Priceline. This site writes Booking.com for the US and Canada — including park gateway towns — on the North America affiliate program.

The default is Booking.com. That is a starting tool for named inventory with a cancellation sentence you can read. It is not a claim that Booking.com has the only rooms in Banff, or that Hotels.com is a trap, or that Priceline is fake.

The order we use (on purpose)

  1. Place. City neighborhood or gateway town. Banff is not Canmore. Springdale is not Hurricane. Airport strips are a different product.
  2. Product type. Named hotel, vacation rental, or in-park / Parks Canada lodge. Different contracts. This lander’s default is the named hotel.
  3. Rate rule. Refundable versus prepaid. If weather, timed entry, or a seasonal road can still move, prepaid is a second itinerary.
  4. OTA. Booking.com first on this lander (North America program). Hotels.com on Park Stay. Priceline on Book the Stay. Chain-direct if status is the actual product.

Sources we trust first

  • The live Booking.com listing: building name, map pin, cancellation language. We do not republish prices.
  • National Park Service and Parks Canada pages for gateway geography and in-park lodging notes.
  • Recreation.gov when a US park week still has a lottery or timed entry that should keep you cancellable.
  • Typical highway times, padded, not the most optimistic GPS result.

Why Booking.com and not “whatever OTA is cheapest tonight”

Cheapest tonight is how people land in Canmore when they meant Banff, or in a prepaid opaque “near Zion” when they meant the pedestrian entrance. Booking.com, used as named inventory, lets you read the pin. That matches a week with a real calendar.

The CJ program on this lander is Booking.com North America (7864295), described to us as a 4% lead. It is not a UK/EU copy. Publisher-side compensation is not a surcharge on your room. We do not invent a sale rate to make the click look better.

Hotels.com and Priceline are in the comparison because they are real alternatives

Hotels.com is Park Stay’s default for named, often-cancellable gateway hotels. Same job, different program and sister lander.

Priceline is Book the Stay’s default for the discount and Express Deals path. Useful when you already know the building. A weak default for a first named-room search in a park town.

Independence

4 Life Health Wealth LLC publishes this site. We applied to the Booking.com North America program on Commission Junction. Advertisers do not choose the primary town. If that ever changes, How we pick and the FTC disclosure change first.
